We are making final preparations for our inaugural men’s retreat scheduled for this weekend at Daniel Springs Baptist Camp in Gary, Texas. We want to make you aware of a few details you will need for the weekend.

In packing for the conference, be sure to include a bedroll (either a sleeping bag or sheets and a blanket) and a pillow. In addition to toiletry items you will also need to supply your own towels and washcloths. Remember to bring your Bible or an electronic device with your Bible app. We will provide you with a pocket-sized field manual and a pencil for taking notes.

If you have checked the weather forecast for Thursday – Saturday, you may have noticed that it appears that weather conditions will be less than ideal. With that in mind, we have made a couple of adjustments to the schedule. Instead of playing paintball in Haughton, LA, we will head to Nacogdoches, TX, on Friday afternoon to spend a couple of hours throwing axes! (Not at one another, but at targets at a place called “The Rusty Axe”.) After the axe throwing, we will be having dinner in Nacogdoches before we head back to Gary.

I am attaching a copy of the itinerary for the conference. If weather permits, we will have bonfires. If not, we will set up places to play card games, etc. (Feel free to bring cards with you!)

The church buses will leave from the Bus Station at 5:30 on Thursday afternoon. You will be responsible for purchasing your dinner in Shreveport Thursday evening and your lunch on the way back to Magnolia on Saturday. Other than that, your meals, entertainment, and snacks will be covered by your registration fee.

We are praying for you as you prepare for the conference.

Pray for us as well.

Your Pastors
